About Nelson, New Zealand

Living in New Zealand we are used to the green pastures with millions of sheep and herds of cattle; the majestic mountains as well as rivers that feed from glaciers and wind through deep forests, golden, white and black-sanded beaches, highcountry covered by tussock grass, and beautiful, spectacular views throughout our island country in the South Pacific Ocean, situated about 1600 km south-east of Australia.

There is an estimated population just over 4 000 000 of which approximately 83% are of European descent. Nearly three-quarters of the total population lives on the North Island. English and Maori are the official languages, although the country is predominantly English speaking.




The Nelson Region is one of the top destinations for tourists to New Zealand. Nelson is home to  some of the best National Parks in NZ.  The Abel Tasman National Park is just one, where you can enjoy guided walks, sea kayaking, many beaches, coves and estuaries. The city of Nelson is a pleasant, bright and active place.
