Wow, time is just flying by and the year is slipping away. Spring is here already, the blossom is out, daffs are blooming, birds are singing and children are shaking off their winter coats and having fun here on The Terrace.
Whats' been happening??
A fe weeks ago there was an international netball competition in Nelson and we were very privileged to have the Scottish Netball Team visit our school and talk to everyone followed by a coaching session for those children who play netball.
Many found it invaluable and got a real thrill out of being coached by international players. Our thanks to the team.
We are very privileged, also, to have had the Super Rugby Champion's cup visit our school recently. One of our parents is the legendary Wyatt Crockett, recently retired All Black and Canterbury Crusader.
Wyatt brought along the cup that The Crusaders had so deservedly won in the 2018 season for us to have for a few hours.
It gave the Crusader fans among us a rare opportunity to pose with the cup. What a great thing to happen for some of our young fans. All went well...or almost all. Unknown to The Boss it was picked up slightly ahead of schedule and when it was noticed as 'missing' by him, panic set in. He spent a very stressful 40 minutes running around the school looking for it and wondering how he was going to explain that he had lost one of the most valuable trophies in NZ and Southern Hemisphere rugby!! I swear he aged ten years in those 40 minutes!!
Last week we had a 'Discovery Day' morning where the children opted in and out of a variety of activities offered by the teachers. It was a great success.
And finally, El Grego.
El Grego has been a regular visitor to our school for the last twenty years. He is a renowned magician and ventriloquist who travel the country spreading his anti-bullying message. Once again he delivered an very entertaining performance and strong message.
